is canceled
due to a serious illness in the family.
Summer events in Central Lake include art festivals, craft fairs, and the largest small town 4th of July Parade for miles around. After the parade enjoy a chicken barbeque, bazaars, and a strawberry shortcake extravaganza. Float your boat, take a dive, drive around our beautiful lakes and country side, visit a beautiful orchard, or just relax at one of our parks and beaches. Shop our little stores and boutiques, break fast at the bakery, dine at the historical Blue Pelican, or lift your "spirits" at Mammoth Distilling.
In the evening make running and family memories by joining us for a 5K, 10K, or 1 Mile Fudgees Ice Cream Fun Run to honor the memory of world class runner Ryan Shay who grew up running the streets, hills, and byways of Central Lake. Top off these fun-filled activities by gathering with us after dusk to watch one of the most beautiful firework displays in small town America.
Race Information:
The 5K and 10K will start July 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Thurston Park (intersection of E. State and Lake St.) 1 block east of the center of downtown Central Lake. Both races will finish at the Central Lake High School track and football stadium located at Herrick Field just 1 mile south of town. The 5K is a run/walk. The 10K is a run only. The Fudgees 1 Mile Ice Cream Fun Run will take place on the track at 8:00 p.m.
Parking:
Parking is available at Central Lake High School two blocks west of the start on Old State or the Central Lake Herrick Athletic Field 1.3 miles south of start off M-88 or off Herrick/Moyer/W. Intermediate Lake Dr. (streets inter connect)
Entry Fees:
5K and 10K graduated fee- $25 thru May 31; $30 after May 31
Fudgees 1 Mile Ice Cream Fun Run:- $10 without shirt; $15 with shirt

All race distances can Pre-register here at everalracemgt.enmotive.com or complete entry form here and mail entry fee to Shay Memorial Foundation (SMF), P.O. Box 342, Central Lake, MI 49622. Or register on race day at Thurston Park between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds:
All proceeds, after costs, will support the Ryan Shay Memorial Scholarships and local charities. No refunds.
Awards:
Plaque awards to Overall and Masters male/female winners and medal awards to male/female places 1-3 in the following categories:
(14 and under), (15-19), (20-24), (25-29), (30-34), (35-39), (40-44), (45-49), (50-54), (55-59), (60-64), (65-69), (70 and over) For your convenience, please pick up your award at the awards table located near the finish line.
Amenities:
Restrooms and water available at start/finish lines; three 10K water stations; two 5K water stations; Music; Post-race bottled water and refreshments; Hose water available at finish site; Goody bag; T-Shirts guaranteed to all pre-registered entrants and available to race day registrants until supply runs out.
